A season alive with fragrance, renewal, and the good life.
A new season at Vergenoegd Löw
It’s springtime in the Cape Winelands and here at Vergenoegd Löw we’re witnessing the budding of our young vines and the beautiful abundance of new life. Nature is abuzz, and we feel it daily while working the soil and nurturing the fruit and bounty we so deeply appreciate.

The historic manor house at Vergenoegd Löw is undergoing a careful restoration – honouring its heritage while preparing elegant spaces for a new season of hospitality.
This season of renewal is also reflected in the restoration of our historic homestead and the refinement of our highly rated restaurants, Geuwels and Clara’s Barn, now under the executive leadership of Michelle Theron. Our luxury hotel and farm-style spa are receiving thoughtful upgrades and fresh touches too.

Rooted in restoration and guided by Chef Michelle Theron, our farm’s harvest inspires the fresh, seasonal menus at our award-winning restaurants.
While some of our hospitality spaces are under renovation, we invite our hotel guests to enjoy our special breakfast, lunch, and dinner offerings in the exclusive Owner’s Villa, located among the vineyards.
Wine tasting and farm experiences
Our Vintage Room, located in the werf just a short walk from the homestead, offers tastings of our award-winning wines and delicious snack platters featuring local charcuterie and cheeses, traditional roosterkoek, spreads and home-made preserves served with fresh farm-grown fruit and vegetables. Our popular Indigenous Tasting is also available here.

Generous snack platters – local charcuterie, cheeses, preserves, and farm-grown produce – perfectly paired with Vergenoegd Löw’s estate wine tastings.
Or simply spend time in nature: wander through our indigenous gardens dotted with bronzes by local artist Dylan Lewis, enjoy vibrant birdlife, find your balance in the labyrinth and maze, or visit our spa for a relaxing treatment.
Exploring Stellenbosch
Stellenbosch, the second-oldest town in South Africa (after Cape Town), established in 1679, is known not only for its world-class wines but also for its rich cultural and academic history. A visit to Vergenoegd Löw is never complete without exploring the broader region – from fine dining and wine to natural beauty, adventure, architecture, culture, and some of the best South African art and design. It’s a melting pot of creativity and inspiration that has nurtured fascinating characters for more than three centuries.
